“GREYT PALS” is a Post-Adoption Resources program we are bringing back to HGA because
we realize that not everything about your new Greyhound can be found in a book. We want
your journey with your new family member to be a success and sometimes other greyhound
folks can give you tips and tricks as you and your hound get to know each other.
Your selected resource is Barb Biffle
Barb has had seven Greyhounds as family members since 1998, and her love of the breed and
eagerness to learn about their uniqueness has led her to do volunteer work with greyhound
adoption agencies to help make sure that both adopters and their dogs can easily have access to the
broad range of knowledge they need to make the start of their lives together successful.
Barb helped Bluffs Run Adoption for several years after she got her first two greyhounds. She would
assist with transporting dogs. (And yes, she also adopted another dog or two that way.) Later, she
helped HGA as a volunteer doing home visits with her greyhound, Jack Moose, talking to prospective
families about greyhounds and answering their questions. She also did community visits with Jack
Moose and spoke of the wonderful and unique qualities of the breed. And now she is back as a
volunteer resource for YOU and your new greyhound.
She is retired after 26 years with the State of Nebraska, but works part-time at UNL in the School of
Natural Resources with flexible hours, so contact her any time.
No question is too small…No concern of yours is worth overlooking.
Barb will contact you within a few days of your greyhound adoption to see if you have questions, and be available after that.
Also please Call, Text, or Email Barb for a quick response if you have questions before she contacts you. HGA is there for you.

Hello, I think this is Barb B, right ? Are you with Heartland Greyhound Adoption in Bondurant, IA? My husband & I have owned greyhounds for 30 yrs, since Aug, 1994. Currently, we only have one Grey, Reba. We have always had multiples, 4 at one time the most. I am 69 & my husband is 81. Reba recently lost her sister, Lucy Liu, & Reba is totally lost without her. KCREGAP, where we have always adopted, does not have any seniors & we are looking to adopt, preferably a female, because, we too, are seniors! Does Heartland have a senior? Do they adopt out of state? Please let me know at (816) 286-9636. I used my husband’s email, as my info was recently hacked, so personally, I am not using email at the present. Thank you!
Also, I volunteered for KCREGAP 21 years; fostered, transported, mostly from Abilene, KS, scheduled surgeries, worked closely with vets, & did basically whatever was needed to support KCREGAP. I owned & operated Pooches Paradise, an all breed doggie daycare & boarding kennel so REGAP would have a nice kennel space for the greyhounds. The greys had their own separate space for play & kenneling from the other breeds. I arranged adoption of 21 greys from Macau China, with Albano Martins, who saved over 600 greys (maybe more) from the worse greyhound racing track in China.
